VBS at Central in College Station, TX

This is will be our “Term 3” this summer as we help out with VBS during the week of June 20 – 24th.  We expect over 100 children and young adults who have special needs to participate.  More info to be available soon at https://centralbcs.org/ministries/special-needs/

BASE CAMP – Spring Break 2022 – Was a huge Success! Praise God!

What is Base Camp you might be asking? Well think summer camp meets spring break meets day camp meets the local church. It will be 3 fun filled days of all the camp activities you love alongside amazing friends in Brazos Valley without having to wait for summer to get here!
When: March 15-17th from 9am-4pm
(volunteers will come for trainings on the 14th, No overnight housing provided)
Where: Central Church in College Station, TX
Who: Campers age 5-55+ (cost is $150)
         Sibling Campers (neurotypical) age 7-13 (cost $90)
Volunteers age 15+ (cost is $50)

**Transition times = 10 minutes**

7:15am Staff arrive at church for set up
8:15am Volunteers arrive for kick-off

  • Food: 

Every camper and volunteer is responsible to bring a sack lunch for food 

**Please refrain from packing nuts for allergy purposes

Come hungry for the Word and not for breakfast- please be sure to eat before arrival each day

Bring a water bottle!

  • Cost: $225
  • Medical care: We will have an onsite nurse and assistance at Base Camp each day. Please note all medications and allergies on camper application

We will have a team of trained staff members that are here to care for our campers physically and emotionally. If you have any questions or concerns about your camper’s needs for assistance, please contact us and let us know!

  • Groups / one-on-one buddies 

Our volunteers will serve as one-on-one buddies with each camper at day camp. We will be split up into groups (cabins) of 8 campers and 8 volunteers each that will be led by 2 of our trained summer staff.

  • Lodging:

This is not a spend the night camp. If you are from out of town and wish to find a place to stay close for the week, that is up to you, but Beloved and Beyond will not be providing lodging accommodations for volunteers or campers

Volunteers:

  • arrival/departure

Volunteers will arrive at 8:15am daily for check-in and preparation for camper arrival

Departure will be at ~5:30pm daily after processing and team building

  • No overnight housing provided

  • Training / expectations / groups / system

We will have a training session on Monday, February 14th for our volunteers to be equipped and ready to tackle the week ahead. We will be covering what the week will look like, reading camper applications, training on disabilities, and the basics of camper care. We love our buddies and want them all to be prepared to succeed!

  • Cost : $50
  • Mission opportunity- half of your Spring Break!

Mission trip opportunity to be the hands and feet of the Lord to our friends with disabilities to show the love of Christ and share the Good News with all people.

  • Service hours

Volunteers will receive a total of 35 service hours for the week!
